Dr. John DeBarros is a partner and one of the lead surgeons at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He currently is on staff at Surgical Specialty Hospital of Arizona and Phoenix Baptist Hospital.

Dr. DeBarros belongs to several societies including The American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Maricopa Medical Society.

Phoenix Arizona bariatric surgeon, Dr. DeBarros was born and raised in Connecticut and received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy and subsequent medical degree and residency in general surgery from the University of Connecticut. He also completed the very prestigious fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Florida.

Dr. DeBarros believes in the axiom “success, not just surgery, should be our goal”. He believes in a comprehensive surgical weight loss management program that emphasizes a caring and dedicated approach for patients and their families.
